Uganda Christian University’s Lady Canons moved to the brink of a return to the National Basketball League Finals after defeating KCCA Leopards 63–56 in Game Two of their semi-final series on Sunday, 26th July 2026, at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

Having taken Game One 79-71, Coach Emmanuel Kiguyi’s side now hold a commanding 2–0 lead in the best-of-five series and are one victory away from reaching the finals after missing out last season.

The Lady Canons made a bright start, taking a 19–14 first-quarter lead, with centre Martina Anyango setting the tone early by scoring eight points. They maintained their control into halftime, carrying a 33–27 advantage into the break.

KCCA responded after halftime, with Coach Tony Drileba’s side edging the third quarter 15–12 to trim the deficit. However, Anyango remained unstoppable, stretching UCU’s lead with a flawless shooting display from beyond the arc before the Lady Canons closed out the contest to secure a seven-point victory.

Anyango delivered a dominant double-double of 28 points and 16 rebounds to earn the Uganda Basketball Players Association Woman of the Match award. Sylvia Nantongo also recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

For KCCA, Ninette Uwineza and Sharuwa Nakirya scored 12 points apiece, while Namugosa added 10 in a losing effort.

The Lady Canons can now seal the series in Game Three as they chase a return to the National Basketball League Finals and pursue what would be their ninth league title.
