First, it was an issue only talked about in hushed tones. Then, the rate of drug abuse increased among students and youth, bringing dialog to the public domain. 

Our children are ready to go back to school next week. Others are reporting this week. It’s the promotional and mostly the final term of the year. Every term may come with its own fears and anxiety. As a parent, you need to sit with your children, check their concerns, and give counsel at the beginning of the term. We have candidates doing their final exams at any level of their academic journey. Soon they will start their vacation. Such counseling speaks to their mental well-being.

Everyone has a distinct motivation for starting a business. Wilma Nakyanzi, a Bachelor of Social Work and Social Administration student at Uganda Christian University (UCU) who is about to graduate, said that she wanted to do it more for survival than for personal growth.

When I think of Molly Nantongo, I think of dancing. The tiny gap in her front teeth is one way I pick her out from hundreds of Ugandans I’ve met. Both of those things – dance and space evident when Nantongo smiles – have played an important role in her still unfolding achievement.

The Me Time is a Netflix original comedy, directed by John Hamburg, that tells a story of a father, Sonny(Kevin Hart), who, after years of having no free time to himself, finally gets a weekend to himself ,as his wife and children are away.

UCU lecturer Timothy Wangusa has a birthday that coincides with Makerere University’s centenary. The university applauded his service for literature in the country and region during his 80th birthday celebration and the launch of his four books.

“Plain yogurt contains a probiotic with healthy bacteria that stays in the digestive tract and the vagina, and helps in balancing yeast and bacteria without irritating those areas,”said Bamutorana.

“We, as the university, are willing to equip our students with Christian-based values through our programs,” he said. “Such programs are among the many that work closely with leaders in all aspects and fields.”

The UCU project, “Exploring the potential of Indigenous vegetables for human health in Uganda,” started in February and is focused on studying the health benefits of African indigenous vegetables.
