By Michael Ainomugisha UCU 68–57 KIU (1-0) Uganda Christian University Lady Canons kicked off their National Basketball League play-offs with a convincing 68-57 victory over KIU Rangers on Friday, 5th September, at Lugogo Indoor Arena. The Mukono side started steady, edging the first quarter 12-10. By halftime, the Lady Canons had stretched their advantage with a strong 22-point second quarter against KIU’s 13, taking a 34-23 lead into the break. Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi the Vice Chancellor of Uganda Christian University (UCU) has pledged 50 million Uganda shillings towards the Church of Uganda (COU) All Clergy Conference being held at the university’s main pitch. Mushengyezi made this gesture as he gave his opening remarks at the conference, which has welcomed more than 3000 clergymen from all 39 Protestant dioceses of the country.
