The former National Basketball League (NBL) champions, City Oilers, have emerged victorious after playing a tightly contested game against the UCU Canons, this Saturday, at the latter’s home basketball court at Uganda Christian University, in Mukono.

Former Canons player, Jimmy Enabu made all the difference City oilers needed in the last quarter for a victory, with three successful free-throws, in the dying minutes of the game. The game ended 63-60 points, in favour of the ‘Oilers’.

The UCU Canons coach, Nicholas Natuhereza, upon conceding defeat said the team is now focusing on subsequent games. “Well, we lost the game, but we now have to set our eyes on the UPDF game which is ahead of us in the following week.”

On his part, Titus Lual, the UCU Canons’ team captain also believes it is time to focus is on the upcoming matches. “We failed to win the game, but we have a big task to view on.”

The loss stalls the UCU Canons at seventh position on the league table, until the former redeem themselves in the forthcoming National Basketball League playoffs.
