    Lady Doves 2-0 Makerere

    Rines 1–1 Wakiso Hill

After defeating Kampala Queens FC on the last day of the FUFA Women’s Super League (FWSL), Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC emerged victorious in the 2023–24 season.

In front of a huge crowd on Sunday at the Kawempe Muslim Valley Ground, the hosts won 2-0 to secure the championship through goals from Agnes Nabukenya and Allen Nassazi in the second half.

This was the fifth league title for Kawempe Muslim in history, but their first since the name changed to FUFA Women Super League in 2019.

In Mukono, the UCU Lady Cardinals ended their season with a 4-0 win against the Asubo Ladies through a first-half hat trick of Jovia Nakagolo and Bridget Mbwali’s strike at Kauga Progressive grounds.

Nakogolo’s first-half strikes put her on a tally of seven goals this season, three shy of the top scorers, Sharon Namatovu and Agnes Nabukenya.

UCU’s fate was determined against Rines Women Football Club last week; they will be spending next season in the second division. The win was the first in the second round of the league and the fourth of the entire season.

While heading to Kabaka Kyabaggu to play Rines WFC, visitors to Wakiso Hill were engaged in a fatal accident that further led Zaitun Namaganda, Esther Anzoo, and Teopista Apino to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Wakiso via ambulance. Through Eva Naggayi, hosts Rines concluded their season with a one-all draw.

At Katusabe Stadium, the Lady Doves defeated Makerere 2-0, while the Uganda Martyrs defeated the visiting She Maroons one-nil at St. Gerald’s Stadium in Lubanga, thanks to Latifah Nakasi, to conclude third on the table this season.

As the league was brought to a conclusion, Agnes Nabukenya of Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC and Sharon Namatovu of Makerere University WFC led the goal-scoring charts with ten goals each. Juliet Adeke of Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC was named the season’s Best Keeper, and She Maroons FC was given the Fair Play Award.
