KCCA Leopards 63 – 61 UCU Lady Canons

In a tense National Basketball League clash at Lugogo on May 2nd, the KCCA Leopards narrowly defeated the UCU Lady Canons 63–61, sealing the win in the final minutes of a contest that was tight from tip-off to buzzer.
Perus Nyamwenge was the standout for KCCA, draining a clutch three-pointer to tie the game 31–31 heading into halftime. The guard finished with a game-high 22 points, including several key buckets down the stretch to lead her side past a resilient UCU outfit.
The Lady Canons responded well after the break, refining their execution and taking a slim three-point edge into the fourth quarter. Shillah Lamunu Aber kept UCU in the game with a strong two-way performance—13 points and 7 rebounds while KCCA’s Deborah Najjuko chipped in with 10 points.
But the Leopards, powered by Nyamwenge’s shot-making and supported by Asinah Kabendela’s 10-point contribution, clawed their way back in the final quarter. With less than a minute to go, KCCA nudged ahead and held firm, denying UCU any late-game heroics.
The defeat marks UCU’s third of the season, with earlier losses to JKL Lady Dolphins and JT Lady Jaguars. Their four wins came against the Magic Stormers, Miracle Ravens, Nabisunsa, and Nkumba.
Now at 4–3, the Lady Canons will look to bounce back quickly as they try to recalibrate their campaign
