Uganda Christian University’s (UCU) Lady Cardinals have dominated against Kenya College of Accountancy University (KCA) at the East African University Games, thrashing Kenya’s KCA University 6-0 in a women’s football match held at Maseno University.
Jovia Nakagolo was the star of the show, netting four goals to assert her dominance on the pitch. Harima Kanyago added two more to secure the resounding victory for the Lady Cardinals.
The game saw UCU establish their control early, leading 3-0 by halftime. Their fluid play, swift counterattacks, and clinical finishing proved too much for KCA University to handle, as UCU continued to pile on the goals in the second half.
This victory is a significant rebound for the Lady Cardinals after their earlier loss to Makerere University. It also reinforces UCU’s standing as one of the most formidable teams in the tournament.
The East African University Games continue to showcase the best in university sports from across the region, with UCU proving they are still very much in contention for the top honors.
