UCU Lady Canons 50-38 A1 Challenge

UCU Lady Canons secured a 50-38 victory against A1 Challenge in the 2024 National Basketball League at YMCA Court in Wandegeya on Sunday.

Shakira Nanvubya was instrumental on the day, dropping a game-high of 20 points to inspire the Mukono-based side to a victory.

The other UCU Lady Canons player to reach double digits was Millicent Otieno, with only 10 points.

On the other side, only Stella Kiberenge dropped 10 points for the troubled A1 Challenge.

Yaweh Sera Perious concluded the first quarter with a two-point jump shot as A1 Challenge trailed by five points.

It was a low-scoring second quarter (8-9) as both sides went into the long break with A1 Challenge trailing by four points (23-19).

It was one-way traffic in the third quarter as the A1 Challenge was limited to only four points as the Lady Canons took a 16-point lead.

A1 Challenge stepped up in the final quarter, but the Lady Canons held on to secure a 12-point victory on a sunny day.

It was the second victory for the Lady Canons, who earlier secured a well-deserved victory against the KCCA Leopards on Friday.
