As Uganda Christian University (UCU) gears up for the highly blistering five-day Association of Ugandan University Sports (AUUS) games tournament, preparations continue in terms of sport facility renovations and redevelopment. 

UCU lost three promising young women to separate road accidents. The deceased include Laurine Murungi and Britney Sarah Treasure who perished in an accident along Bweyogerere. Eye witnesses say a taxi that was trying to overtake lost control and knocked a boda which the two girls were on. Both the girls and the boda rider perished. A third student, Maria Angella Namirembe, was involved in an accident near Angels Nest Primary School

UCU has been recognised as the Strategic Partner of the Year by the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) for its outstanding contribution to the country’s fiscal development. Year Two students won the Uganda Christian University School of Law Sports Gala after a strong run across football and other track events during the two-day competition held on November 14 and 15 at the main campus in Mukono.

To qualify for the tournament, both the UCU Lady Canons and Canons defeated the United States International University-Africa (USIU) in a qualifying tournament hosted by Makerere University at HAMZ Stadium, Nakivubo, earlier this year, and USIU qualified for the World Cup as runners-up.

UCU Doves suffered a 3-1 defeat to defending champions Sport-S in the National Volleyball League fixture played on November 9, 2025, at the Sport-S Grounds, YES Center Nsambya.
