Do not give up. I encourage many to use me as an example: “if Kayiira did it, why not me?” Because everything is possible. Very many people are going to put them down but let them keep pushing because it’s never easy.

Mumbere’s journey began with strong family expectations for him to pursue civil engineering, a course chosen largely to fulfil his mother’s dream and belief in his academic potential. Although he accepted the decision with the hope of making her proud, he quickly discovered that the course did not align with his passion or identity.

Attendance is visible, but preparation is not. Lecturers see who shows up, but they do not see who revised beforehand, who skimmed notes at midnight, or who ignored the course outline entirely.

I believe that at our age, it’s a season of transition, from being dependent youths to responsible, productive adults. Starting Solomon’s Impeccable Looks was my way of creating financial independence, employment opportunities for others, and a platform for social impact.

UCU has honoured the first University Secretary, Rt. Rev. Bishop Emeritus Dunstan Bukenya for his tremendous contribution towards the growth and development of the institution, and for pioneering the start of the law department.

UCU lost three promising young women to separate road accidents. The deceased include Laurine Murungi and Britney Sarah Treasure who perished in an accident along Bweyogerere. Eye witnesses say a taxi that was trying to overtake lost control and knocked a boda which the two girls were on. Both the girls and the boda rider perished. A third student, Maria Angella Namirembe, was involved in an accident near Angels Nest Primary School

Some of my favorite moments are also firsts, like winning my first championship. One title especially dear to me was being named MVP at the Zone 5 Championship (covering Eastern, Central, and Southern Africa) at just 17—the youngest to ever win it. Also my first championship with the UCU Lady Canons, and it felt like fulfilling a promise I had made to Jason Mehl, who was then the Head of Sports at UCU.

My leadership style is a combination of two approaches; the transformational where by at the end of the day we have to transform our society to develop our standards of living. The second one is democracy where everyone should be considered when making decisions.
