28th Guild Government has seen an increase in its budget compared to those of previous Guild Governments’ budgets. The document that was presented by the Minister of Finance, Hon. Glenn Kanagulira during the plenary sitting held today totals Shs250 million, a 17% increase compared to the budget passed by their predecessor.

UCU has honoured the first University Secretary, Rt. Rev. Bishop Emeritus Dunstan Bukenya for his tremendous contribution towards the growth and development of the institution, and for pioneering the start of the law department.

Ms Pamela Tumwebaze, the former DOSA of UCU, has been laid to rest at her ancestral home in Kashari, Mbarara. Tumwebaze’s body was lowered into the grave at about 5:15pm, surrounded by relatives, friends, and workmates.

UCU fraternity has paid its final respects to the departed Director of Student Affairs (DOSA) Ms Pamela Tumwebaze. The sendoff began on Thursday with a Community Worship session at Nkoyoyo Hall at the university, that was fully dedicated to eulogising her, crowned with a funeral service today that began with an academic procession involving university administrators, senate members, and Guild leaders.

Pamela was graceful and vibrant. Her warmth and charm quietly won the
admiration of many students, though no one openly said so. She carried herself
with simplicity, yet she was firm and disciplined in her work. After teaching us for a year, she moved on, and we no longer had her in class.

Uganda Christian University (UCU) has announced the send-off programme for the late Pamela Tumwebaze, with a series of vigils and funeral services scheduled from February 11 to February 15.
