    UCU Badminton Clinch Wins at AUUS Games

    Team UCU Badminton (UCU Kites) continued their strong run on day two of the AUUS Games with key wins against Makerere University and Makerere University Business School.

    Joshua Ekochu led the charge in singles, posting a 2–0 win over Makerere. He took control early, winning the first game 21–13 and closing the second 21–15 to give UCU a solid start.

    In another singles tie, Zawahir Kanyanjwa faced a tough test against Makerere. He dropped the match 1–2 after a tight contest. Makerere took the first game 21–16. Kanyanjwa responded with a 21–12 win in the second. The third game went down to the wire, with Makerere edging it 24–23. The result left the tie level at 1–1.

    The decisive doubles match swung momentum back to UCU. Joshua Ekochu paired with Zawahir Kanyanjwa to face Makerere in a must-win contest. The duo showed control and teamwork to seal the tie and hand UCU the overall edge.

    In the women’s category, UCU delivered a dominant display. Frida Mbuya and Kruthum Nalumansi brushed aside their opponents with ease. They won the first game 21–5 and closed the match 21–3, showing clear authority on the court.

    UCU also recorded a clean 2–0 win over Makerere University Business School, underlining their depth across both singles and doubles.
