    UCU Lady Canons stumble

The JKL Lady Dolphins defeated the Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady Canons 67-51 in the first high-profile game of the 2023 National Basketball League season.

In a rematch from last year’s finals. JKL started fast as they were the early pace setters, moving the ball from side to side and finding buckets in the process.

Hope Akello put on a vintage display as she affected the game on both ends with a monster double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds, a small victory she will take over her opposite number, Bridget Aber.

The game had a back and forth feel to it as both sides traded baskets and led for the majority of the first three quarters, with both teams giving their all with several jump shots contested on the floor.
