The Uganda Christian University’s new pitch was abuzz with excitement as the highly anticipated match between the School of Law and the School of Social Sciences took place. The game ended in a draw, with both teams scoring one goal in each half.

The School of Social Sciences played with 10 men for the majority of the game as their central midfielder Baseronga Joseph was shown a red card after bringing down Mukama Vincent. Despite being a player down, they held on valiantly and secured a point against the tournament favorites, the School of Law.

“There are always three results we can expect in a game: a win, a draw, and a loss, but today it was a draw. Maybe tomorrow it can be a win,” said Hillary Fimarubo, coach of the school of law.

The School of Law appeared to be the clear favorite, with a deep and talented squad and a large fan base. However, the School of Social Sciences put up a strong fight, and the match was evenly contested.

During the first half, Junior Mukisa Isaac of the School of Social Sciences made a hard tackle on Esadu Solomon, resulting in a few moments of pain. Both teams struggled to establish their dominance in the early stages of the game, with half-chances going begging.

Law’s goalkeeper, Edonu Emmanuel, bundled the ball in the box, and Ntege Abraham let fly with a powerful shot that was deflected off target by Lubega James. The School of Law fans cheered on their team with passion, and this energy inspired their players.

Shortly thereafter, the referee awarded a penalty to the School of Law after Oringa Lawrence was brought down in the opposition box. Oringa successfully converted the penalty, putting the Law team ahead.

In the second half, the School of Law dominated much of the proceedings but failed to convert their chances into goals. This would ultimately come back to haunt them in the final moments of the game when Mutebi Godfrey was brought down in the opposition box. The referee awarded a penalty, which Bulamu Bill clinically finished, equalizing the score.
