A high-spirited Uganda Christian University, UCU Angels Netball team Cruz past Gulu University Netball team in the Association of Uganda University Sports, AUUS Games 2025 in the netball category by 57-8.

In what looked like a walk away for the well-coordinated UCU Angels this afternoon, was a show case of exceptional performance as the AUUS Games 2025 continue to create and arise uproar in the University sport.

UCU Angels took advantage in all the four quarters played today at UCUU’s Netball court through their goal shooter Ayikulu Shamirah who came on as a substitute in the third quarter and dominated the game with a personal contribution of over 15 points made in the last two quarters.

Good game reading and coordination from UCU Angels stormed and dominated the game in all the four quarters from the goal keeper, defender, attackers and the centre player Josephine Bakhita to the goal shooter Shamirah Ayikulu unlike Gulu University players who looked weak in every aspect hence conceding a deficit of 39 points having scored eight only.

UCU Angels goal shooter Shamirah Ayikulu said that ” The game was good and we knew that we were going to win and our opponent didn’t give us any challenge. Our only challenge was the sunshine. We only strain in the team because we know our weaknesses and our strength hence forth a reason for our good performance, coordination and good game reading. ” Said Goal shooter Ayikulu.

According to Nelson James Bogere, the Head Coach UCU Angels also reckoned that ” It’s not a one day thing, we have been training and we are meant to do what we have done because we have been together, playing in the Netball league and that’s we are. Games are games and as we prepare other teams are also preparing and we always approach game by game and we are for this win. ” Said Bogere.
