Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady Cardinals have learnt their opponents for the 2026/27 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Elite League season, with the competition expanding from two conferences to three.

The Lady Cardinals have been placed in the Central Conference alongside seven other clubs: Dream Girls Soccer Academy, Asubo Ladies FC, Luweero Giant Queens FC, Police Women FC, Wakiso Hills WFC, UPDF Women FC and PISGBC Queens FC.

The new conference arrangement marks a change from the previous format, which featured the Victoria and Elizabeth groups.

According to the fixtures released by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), UCU will open their campaign at home against Dream Girls Soccer Academy on Sunday, 18 October 2026, at the UCU Grounds in Mukono.

The Lady Cardinals will remain at home for their second fixture against Asubo Ladies FC on Sunday, 25 October, before travelling to Kayindu Playground to face Luweero Giant Queens FC on Saturday, 31 October. All three matches are scheduled to kick off at 4 pm.

UCU will then host Wakiso Hills WFC on 7 November before travelling to Bombo Military Barracks Ground to face UPDF Women FC on 15 November.

The Central Conference fixtures will be played over home and away rounds, with the first round running until December and the second scheduled to begin in January 2027.

The Lady Cardinals enter the new campaign seeking promotion to the Finance Trust Bank Women Super League after finishing second in their group last season.

UCU endured a difficult start to the 2025/26 season, losing their opening three matches before recovering with a run of victories that revived their promotion hopes.

With a new conference structure and seven opponents to face, the Mukono-based side will be looking for a stronger start as they pursue a return to Uganda’s top flight.

The first two rounds of the Central Conference are scheduled to conclude on 13 March 2027, with additional fixtures listed for a third round beginning on 20 March.
