Uganda Christian University, UCU Lady Doves, match to the Women’s volleyball final after shutting down all the hopes of Kyambogo University by a 3-set star performance in the 20th Association of Uganda University Sports, AUUS Games 2025 edition.

The game played in a sunny mid-morning was tough for Kyambogo University Women’s volleyball team losing three sets in a row and duly confirming UCU Lady Doves’ chance of playing the final.

UCU Lady Doves won the first set 25- 12, the second set 25- 18.and the third and final set 25-20. Their win as they wait for the final slated for tomorrow means 100% perfection and winning style, having won all two group stage phase games in their group B.

Daphine Kinobe, player with the UCU Lady Doves, said that ” their good performance is mentored by quality of the players in the team, we are more than average for those who start on court and those who start on bench and on bench come on as game changers because we do do observation work while on bench. ” Said Kinobe.

Juma Osunge, UCU Lady Doves Head Coach, said that as stakeholders of the club, they know the strengths and abilities of every player in the team, which gives them the advantage of playing them interchangeably to achieve the desired results.

” We also scout our opponent before we play. Kyambogo is a strong team, but through pre-match scouting, we come knowing how to approach the game. It tried to pull back some points in the third set, but that was because of accepting complacence from my players which we shall work upon as we approach finals. ” Said Coach Osunge.

Now Kyambogo University will battle for the third place play off as UCU Lady Doves battle for the trophy tomorrow.
