The Lady Canons recovered from a 19–10 defeat to Canada’s Carleton University in their opening Pool B match to register a commanding 21–5 victory over hosts of the University of Macau.
Lady Canons qualified for the World Cup after successfully defending their Federation of African University Sports (FASU) Afro Varsity 3×3 Basketball Championship title, defeating United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa) of Kenya 21–15 in the final held in Ibadan, Nigeria.
The thanksgiving service, held at Nkoyoyo Hall, brought together the Lady Canons, Sports Office administrators, coaches and athletes from other sporting disciplines, led by University Chaplain Rev. Canon Paul Wasswa Ssembiro.
