With Prossy Basemera scoring for the second time in a row, Cathy Nassimbwa netting her fourth goal in the last three games for the Lady Cardinals, and Ritah Adyero sealing the victory, the efforts of the star players overshadowed the only goal for BUL FC Women. The visitors’ goal came from an own goal by Lady Cardinals goalkeeper Annita Akayo after a shot by Shifa Namubiru struck her back and went into the net.
Combined School of Social Sciences and SJMC team defeated FEDT 2-0 to win the UCU Inter-Faculty Games 2026 title. Goals from Diego Mugambwa and tournament top scorer Simon Arike capped a disciplined performance built on tactical execution and resilient defending.
The win was pivotal on the well-coordinated backline of UCU Lady Cardinals, commanded by Prossy Basemera and Harriet Muwugumya, as well as the team’s ball carrier upfront, Cathy Nassimbwa, who was in her prime form so far this season, making the defence of Jinja United Women FC look shaky.
Uganda Christian University (UCU) Cardinals bounced back in emphatic fashion, thrashing King Ceasor University 6–1 in their second game of the 2025 Pepsi University Football League on Wednesday 15th October at the YES Centre in Nsambya.
Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady Cardinals registered their first preseason win by a 1-0 win over South Sudanese Women’s League champions Yei Joint Stars FC on August 20, 2025, at the UCU Old Pitch in Mukono.
From commanding leadership in goal to creativity in midfield and composure in defence, these four players will be the heartbeat of a team determined to make their mark on home soil.
UCU’s equaliser came in the second half, courtesy of an unlikely source—goalkeeper-turned-striker Anita Akayo, who also captained the side.
The hosts took an early lead in the 7th minute after capitalising on a misplaced pass from UCU’s Jane Nantongo, allowing the She Kasese attackers to combine neatly for the opening goal.
The UCU Lady Cardinals recorded back-to-back wins in the FUFA Women’s Elite League with a narrow but hard-fought 1-0 victory over She Geme FC on April 19, 2025, at the UCU Grounds.
