In Uganda men have dominated the sports media landscape, representing approximately 75 to 85% of sports journalists, with women making up only 15 to 25%.  Aheebwa highlights that sports journalism is “traditionally seen as a male domain” in Uganda, which has limited women’s entry and growth in this field. Female reporters often cover less prominent sports and have fewer opportunities to headline major events or gain editorial leadership roles.

It was all pomp and glamour at Uganda Christian University’s new pitch as the 19th chapter of the Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) was officially launched.

n November 24, 2023, a Uganda Christian University (UCU) Main Campus student choir gave the community an early Christmas as they staged a carol production in the Nkoyoyo Hall. Decorated with Christmas decorations and lights, the hall was the setting for more than three hours of holiday music. In between solos, there was a passionate rendition of the famous birth of Jesus, featuring powerful song performances. Pauline Luba had a chat with some of the people who attended the concert.

In an exhilarating clash of titans on the basketball court, Kampala University emerged victorious over Makerere University, securing a hard-fought win with a final score of 69-63. The intense battle unfolded in the first bass held at Uganda Christian University (UCU), where KU demonstrated their prowess and resilience to claim victory in both halves of the game.

The Uganda Christian University Angels ran amok, putting 115 goals past a frail Bishop Stuart University side in today’s netball opener in the Association of Uganda University Sports Tournament (AUUS) happening at UCU.
