English Premier League: Who has the best fixture?

The English Premier League fans will be treated to a thrilling final bend of the ongoing campaign.

With three teams aiming to take the trophy of the current season, each point matters, and therefore each game is played like a final.

After Liverpool dropped results at Old Trafford against Manchester United, the EPL title is currently in the hands of Arsenal, who are level with Liverpool but with a superior goal difference.

Defending champions Manchester City lie third on the log but will be doing all it takes to fight for the fourth league title.

Looking at the fixture, Manchester City have the best fixture and would easily go past the duo in the three-horse race.

With seven games to play, all three sides will work to see that they hardly put a foot wrong. Edwin Kyle Kule of The Standard takes you through where and how the title can be lost or won.

    Arsenal

    Position: 1st

    Goal Difference: +51

It will go down to the wire, but Arsenal will have to revise their last season’s mistakes when they won only three of their final nine league games.

Looking at the goalless draw registered against Manchester City at the Etihad, one is forced to think that they are a much-improved side from last season.

Arsenal still have tricky encounters with Aston Villa on Sunday before they take on Tottenham on Sunday, April 28. The fact that the two teams are fighting to be in the top four makes the encounters juicier.

The Gunners will be concluding the campaign against Everton, and while you might be blinded by how small a team they are, the Toffees will be fighting to finish in a better position.

    Liverpool

    Position: 2nd

    Goal Difference: +42

Liverpool have come close twice in 2019 and 2022. The close misses will bring fresh memories to Jurgen Klopp’s charge to remain alive in the title race.

The recent two games have said otherwise since they slipped against Manchester United in a 2-2 draw before falling 3-0 to Atalanta in the UEFA Europa League.

Liverpool still have to face Everton at Goodison Park in the Merseyside Derby. The Reds also have tricky final games where they will play Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Wolves, respectively.

They have been disturbed by injuries, and the squad depth will come into play since the games come in thick and fast.

    Manchester City

    Position 3rd

    Goal Difference: +40

Man City have recently returned to the scoring mood, though their backline keeps leaking goals in and out.

The holders were not able to beat Liverpool or Arsenal, who are above them on the log, and now they will hand the assignment to the opponents.

Pep Guardiola’s charges have been here before, so they will keep the momentum as they keep a close eye on their opponents.

In the remaining seven games, Manchester City will not meet any top sides, instead playing mid-table teams and the last four on the log.
