Uganda Christian University’s Lady Canons booked their place in the 2026 National Basketball League Finals after defeating KCCA Leopards 84–53 in Game Four of their semi-final series on Friday 14th at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The victory gave UCU a 3–1 series win and ended KCCA’s challenge, sending the Lady Canons into the finals, where they will face regular-season leaders JT Lady Jaguars.

KCCA started the game with greater urgency, taking a 19–14 lead at the end of the opening quarter. UCU struggled to find their rhythm early as the Leopards made the most of their opportunities to take control.

The game changed in the second quarter.

Coach Nicholas Natuhereza’s side tightened their defence and found their rhythm offensively, scoring 19 points while restricting KCCA to only eight. UCU turned the five-point deficit into a six-point halftime lead, going into the break ahead 33–27.

The Lady Canons returned from halftime with the same intensity. They scored 26 points in the third quarter, while KCCA managed only 13, stretching the lead to 59–40.

There was little response from the Leopards in the final quarter. UCU added another 25 points and held KCCA to 13 to complete a 31-point victory.

Martina Anyango led the Lady Canons with 27 points and 11 rebounds, while Sylvia Nakituuka added 20 points. Ciela Igiraneza also reached double figures with 11 points.

For KCCA, Suzan Aanyu was the leading scorer with 21 points.

The result completes a 3–1 series victory for UCU, who had earlier taken Games One and Two before KCCA responded in Game Three to keep the series alive.

The Lady Canons now turn their attention to the finals against the JT Lady Jaguars as they seek to extend their record in the Women’s National Basketball League.
