    NEMO 3:0 UCU

    First Set: 25-21

    Second Set: 25-21

    Third Set: 25-18

The Uganda Christian University (UCU) Men’s Volleyball team, also known as the Doves, fell short in their quest for a podium finish at the National Volleyball League yesterday, succumbing to a 3-0 defeat against Nemostars in the third-place playoff.

The Doves started the match with a promising performance, taking an early lead in the first set. They held their own until the 19th point, where a surge by the Nemostars put them ahead. The experienced Nemostars outfit capitalised on their momentum, closing out the set with a four-point lead (25-21).

Despite a valiant effort in the second set, the Doves were unable to replicate their early dominance. Nemostars continued to exert pressure, eventually securing another close victory (25-21). The writing seemed to be on the wall for the Doves as they entered the third set with a significant deficit.

The Mukono side’s fighting spirit remained, but unforced errors and Nemostars’ relentless attack proved too much to overcome. The final set concluded 25-18, sealing the Nemostars’ victory

A win for Nemo-stars secured their position as third-place finishers in the league, behind champions Sport-S Volleyball Club and runners-up Kampala Volleyball Club.

While the Doves undoubtedly aimed for a higher finish, their performance throughout the season deserves recognition to make it to the Finals play off losing it to the Champions Sport S.
