    UCU 51 – 40 KIU

UCU Lady Canons extended their unbeaten run with a win over KIU Rangers on Wednesday, 4 March, in a National Basketball League game at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The game began slowly, with both teams struggling to score. UCU and KIU each managed seven points in the first quarter. For KIU, Anena Cinderella Charity scored four points, Ines Kanyamuneza added two, and Sharon Kirabo made one from the free-throw line.

For UCU, Mariam Namukwaya scored a driving layup, Sylvia Nakituuka hit a three-point jump shot, and Martina Anyango added a two-point tip-in. The low-scoring quarter set the tone for a tightly contested start.

By halftime, the Mukono-based side had scored just 14 points in 20 minutes, while KIU led with 17. Neither team had reached the 20-point mark.

UCU responded strongly in the third quarter. The Lady Canons scored 26 points while limiting KIU to nine, taking a 14-point lead heading into the final period.

KIU attempted a comeback in the fourth quarter, scoring 14 points, three more than UCU’s 11. However, Coach Nicholas Natuhereza’s side held on to secure the win.

UCU Lady Canons defeated KIU Rangers 51–40. Nakituuka scored 11 points, Sylvia Nantongo collected 14 rebounds, Namukwaya added 10 rebounds, and Martina Anyango finished with nine points and 14 rebounds. For KIU, Anena led with 14 points and eight rebounds.

The Lady Canons return to action on Friday, 13 March, against the Pearl Queens at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
