    NBL Result: Friday, June 21

KCCA Leopards 67-81 UCU Lady Canons

The UCU Lady Canons secured a well-deserved 81-67 victory against the KCCA Leopards in the National Basketball League at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The Canons returned to winning ways after suffering a narrow loss against the JT Jaguars in their last game.

UCU Lady Canons opened up a five-point lead (20-15) at the end of the first quarter before extending it to 11 points (42-31) at the break.

It was a tough evening for Ninette Uwineza, who was lifted out in the third quarter due to a nasty collision.

Despite the fight from the KCCA Leopards to match the Lady Canons (22-22) in the third quarter, the Mukono-based side maintained an 11-point lead at the end of the third quarter.

The final quarter was a battle as the Lady Cardinals secured a 14-point victory before a parked-up Lugogo Arena.

Shillah Lamunu was instrumental in the game, recording a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Shakira Nanvubya (20), Tracy Namugosa (11) and Aziida Nabayunga (10) scored in double figures.

On the other hand, Perus Nyamwenge and Margaret Bagaala dropped 20 and 11 points, respectively.

The Lady Cardinals will return to action on Sunday, June 23, as they take on the A1 Challenge at 2:00 PM at Lugogo.
