KIU Rangers 54-551 UCU Lady Canons
(Series Tied 1-1)
The UCU Lady Canons find themselves in a tightly contested FUBA National Basketball League semi-final after a narrow 54-51 loss to the KIU Rangers in Game Two.
The Mukono side’s defeat has leveled the series at 1-1, setting the stage for a crucial Game Three on Tuesday.
Lady Canons started strong, leading 14-11 after the first quarter and extending their advantage to 27-20 by halftime. Aber Bridget was a standout for UCU, recording a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Tracy Namugosa also contributed 10 points, helping UCU build an early lead.
However, the second half proved challenging for the Lady Canons as their performance dipped, allowing the Rangers to claw back into the game.
Kanyamuneza Ines led the charge with 17 points, while Kirabo Sharon added 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The Rangers outscored UCU 13-10 in the third quarter and dominated the final quarter 21-14, sealing their victory.
The loss means the Lady Canons will need to bring their A-game in the upcoming Game Three to regain control of the series.
With the semifinals now tied, the pressure is on UCU to respond and keep their championship aspirations alive.
UCU will return to action this Tuesday.
