The Uganda Christian University (UCU) Lady Doves volleyball team defeated Nemostars in a national volleyball league game played on October 13, 2024, at Sport-S venue Nsambya, marking their fourth win in a row.

Nemostars dominated the first two sets (25:20 and 25:23, respectively). The Lady Doves experienced a range of emotions as they were determined and frustrated, but they remained focused on winning.

This lead did not demoralize the lady doves, but rather inspired them to fight harder and win the final three sets (25:12, 25:22, and 15:11).

“Basically I was not challenged that much but I may say that the opponents reached a point of putting a screen for the  server and receiving  became hard , another challenge was that I and my teammates could collide for balls meaning that our communication was poor.” Said Margret Akampurira.

Coach Juma Osuge called constant time outs, which helped the players correct small mistakes and lead them to win. Osuge expresses his gratitude to the Almighty for the triumph, but he is also disappointed in the girls since he believes they underestimated Nemostars based on their performance last season.

“And I am happy that we’ve experienced this type of situation early in the Season, this has opened up our eyes not to take anybody for granted.” Said Osuge

The ladies remain unbeaten so they continue leading the table.
