The deaths of Rugby Cranes player Sydney Gongodyo and Kyambogo University student Juma Bumba less than 24 hours apart have shocked many and reignited concerns about mob killings.
A total of 100 students were awarded certificates as they completed various skills training programmes organised by the 28th Guild Government at Uganda Christian University (UCU).
The two sporting events will happen on Saturdays, 13th and 27th June 2026, respectively, at the UCU sports ground, shifting them from Nelson Mandela (Namboole) Stadium, which is currently undergoing renovations in preparation for the 2027 PAMOJA African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
“An applicant nominated by the President but rejected (vetted out) by Parliament, holds no legal right to the office, as approval by Parliament is a mandatory constitutional step.”
The lecture is being conducted in line with the competence-based model of learning and evaluation. “It is a way of responding to innovative ways of teaching, assessment, and presenting knowledge.”
News of the passing of Bridget Akiriza, a student at UCU has shocked friends and course mates at the university. Akiriza who was pursuing a Bachelor of Laws was set to start her fourth year in the semester beginning in May.
Ms. Patience Mushengyenzi, fondly known as Mama Pesh invited Ms. Ruth Senyonyi to create a greater impact on students, encouraging them to make the right decisions. This session took place on Sunday, March 29th 2026, in Nkoyoyo Hall at 3:00 pm which focused on Handling relationships and academics.
A section of Guild leaders at Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono Campus have committed to giving their top up tuition, to students struggling to complete paying tuition fees. Uganda Christian University (UCU) has graduated a new group of para counsellors to strengthen mental health support, peer counselling, and emotional well-being among students and the wider community. The graduation ceremony was held on Friday, March 27, in the Executive Conference Room at the university.
