Despite a good start and great efforts from Cathy Nassimbwa and Jovia Nakogolo, the Lady Cardinals were unable to build on their early momentum and score in the first half.

Wakiso Hill overcame the UCU Lady Cardinals 2-0 in the second leg of the FUFA Women Super League match, which took place at St. Mary’s Kitende.

The second half saw a quick turnaround in fortunes for Wakiso Hill. Capitalizing on defensive weaknesses in the Lady Cardinals’ lineup, Wakiso Hill managed to score two quick goals within just two minutes of the restart.

The Lady Cardinals responded with determination, pushing for an equalizer and creating chances in the opponent’s territory. However, their finishing touch remained elusive, and they were unable to convert their opportunities into goals.

In an attempt to turn the match around, the UCU Lady Cardinals made substitutions in the second half, replacing Captain Cathy Nakiridde and Mbwali Bridget with Mebble Kusasira and Harima Kanyango, who provided fresh energy.

Despite the changes, Wakiso Hill’s defense stood firm, and the final whistle blew with the score still 2-0 in their favor.

“It has not been the best of our game. We expected to win, but unfortunately we didn’t, and in our next fixture at home, we need to make use of it,” said coach Collins Ampumuza.

Moving forward, the UCU Lady Cardinals will focus on learning from their mistakes in this encounter as they prepare to play the Lady Doves in the next FUFA Women’s Super League match.
