With two games to conclude the FUFA Women Super League 2023/24 campaign, UCU Lady Cardinals find themselves in the red zone.
None of the technical officials, players or fans would be happy to see their mighty side stuck in the relegation battle.
But reality set in and now the team at large will seek to drag themselves out of the deep mess.
How did we get here?
Since the one-all draw against Kampala Queens on Saturday, March 30, the Lady Cardinals have lost three straight games.
In the seven losses suffered in the ongoing season, three have come on a bounce and the team seems not to know how to get out of the mud.
For starters, the Lady Cardinals have conceded 15 goals and scored 11 remaining with deficit of four as they tell how much they are lacking in different departments.
Catherine Nakiridde is the team’s top scorer with only three goals followed by Jovia Nakagalo and Mebble Kusasira who have scored two goals each.
What next?
With 14 points on their report card, the Lady Cardinals will need to win the two remaining games.
Starting with the away fixture against a rejuvenated Rines SS slated for Sunday, May 12 at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso.
Then later finalise the campaign with a home against Asubo Ladies on Sunday, May 19.
