UCU’s volleyball teams had a great second matchday in the National Volleyball League Serie A, with both the UCU Lady Doves and UCU Doves picking up important wins against Ndejje on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Sport-S Grounds in Nsambya.

The UCU Lady Doves won a thrilling 3-2 match against the Ndejje Elites. After some tight sets (22-25, 30-28, 26-28, 25-15), they sealed the win with a 15-12 victory in the final set.

“It’s our second win in a row, and I’m really proud of these enthusiastic girls, We are staying focused on our goal for the season” said coach Juma Osunge.

In the men’s Serie A, the UCU Doves bounced back from their previous loss to Elyon, beating Ndejje Sharks 3-1. After dropping the first set 24-26, they recovered to take the next three sets 25-15, 25-18, and 25-19.

Team captain Mark Omara Ochan commented, “The loss to Elyon was a wake-up call. This win helps us get back on track as we prepare for the match against Nemostars.”

Both UCU teams will be in action again on Sunday, October 13, 2024, when they face Nemostars at the Sport-S Grounds in Nsambya.
