UCU Lady Canons extended their unbeaten run with a win over KIU Rangers on Wednesday, 4 March, in a National Basketball League game at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
UCU Canons sealed a narrow 66–65 victory over Sommet on Friday night at Abja Parks Naalya to pick up their second win of the National Basketball League season.
UCU Lady Canons continued their perfect start to the National Basketball League season with a 51–34 win over KCCA Leopards on Friday night at Abja Parks Naalya.
The victory marked a strong comeback after their narrow 1-0 loss to St Noa Girls in the previous match.
As the 13th edition of the Eastern Africa University Games (EAUG) draws near, excitement is building across East Africa. Scheduled to take place at Maseno University, Kenya, from December 16 to 20, 2024, the Games will bring together over 30 universities from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and South Sudan to compete in a wide range of sports disciplines. Early goals from Cathy Nassimbwa in the 10th minute and Jovia Nakagolo eight minutes later secured the victory for the Lady Cardinals with a wonderful finish after a dribble passed the goalkeeper.
Carol Ikot, a player for the Lady Doves, attributed their loss to limited training time and strategic challenges, as many team members are based in Kampala for internships, making it difficult to practice together. “We didn’t train as a team for that game because traveling is expensive, and we struggled to strategize against KCCA,” Ikot explained.
