“Integrity is one of the most important qualities for a tax professional,” Nanziri emphasised.
President Abraham Elomaboni made the call during the General Assembly after the challenge of missing marks emerged as a major concern raised during the assembly held at Nkoyoyo Hall on the university campus.
Tanzania had initially been awarded hosting rights for the 14th edition following the conclusion of the 13th East Africa University Games in Maseno, Kenya. However, FEAUS said the country could not continue with preparations due to unavoidable circumstances, prompting the federation to reassign the event to Makerere University.
A particularly alarming case involved a student who took crystal meth and spent two days playing PlayStation nonstop. “He blacked out and only woke up the next day in the afternoon,” said another student who witnessed the incident.
Lukaire urges students to gain essential life skills, such as driving. “Most of us come from families where we don’t receive sufficient training in practical skills like driving or riding a motorcycle. Learn these skills and obtain a permit to avoid missing out on opportunities that may require such competencies,” he notes.
