Miss Leah Nagasha was crowned the New Miss Campus Bishop Barham University College (BBUC, Kabale, 2024-25 on October 19th during the Cultural Gala that the campus had.

The team from the Banyankole tribe emerged as winners of the 2024 Uganda Christian University, UCU Bishop Barham University College, at Kabale. The cultural gala which took place on Saturday 19th October was meant to celebrate the beautiful diversity of African culture in Uganda.

Very soon our university will be witnessing a Guild leadership handover. When it happens, it will be the 27th function of its kind. I have been serving with the outgoing team as MP School of Journalism, and Minister of Information. As such, I have the burden to share a few notes with the 27th Guild leadership to help them serve the university better. I seek to give this advice because I, my colleagues, and those who served before us hold a unique position since we have completed the same journey you are about to begin. We have knowledge to share both from the things we did right and from the mistakes we made.

Uganda Christian University (UCU) officially announced Samantha Mwesigye as its 27th Guild President following a decisive election held on November 22, 2024. 

However, UCU’s captain, Catherine Nakiridde, brought the Lady Cardinals level before halftime with a stunning conversion from a direct free kick.

As the semester hits its peak, students find themselves juggling tests, coursework, and continuous lectures which leaves many struggling to balance the intense workload. The tests and coursework serve as a way  to secure marks before the final exams, but for some students, managing this can be difficult.

I refuse to vote, not in these elections and not for these candidates. I feel like it comes down to slogans every year. Someone comes up and says they espouse Christianity above all else. Another rises against them, talks of a radical change. Then we march to November inundated with canvassers and posters and hit-pieces and puff pieces, all for candidates who honestly do not know much about anything.

UCU took the first set 25-19, setting the tone for the rest of the match. Their offensive power and defensive discipline were on full display in the second set, which they won convincingly at 25-14.

The match, held at Old Kampala Arena, saw UCU display grit and determination, starting with a nail-biting first set that ended 28-26 in favor of the Doves.
